As expected, display was crap. Got the drivers from the post I tried using the 64 bit since my AMD processor was a 64 bit but it was actually for the OS architecture.
In this case, use apt-get –reinstall install nvidia-xxx in a terminal and see if there are any errors my reinstall just worked, creating the correct driver. Launch day has come and the Get Windows 10 app says the graphics card isn’t compatible because NVidia has not done so yet. July 21st, 6.

Their suggestion was to either replace the motherboard or stay with my present OS. But when I use the GUI installer which is what would normally boot up with the try and install options well I am lucky I can make out “ubuntu” on the screen.
